Fine Organ Combo

Pietro Fine leads this band from his Hammond organ, playing bass, lead parts and backings. Hammond organs have a distinctive jazz sound, with a smooth mellow bass tone. Add to that the sound of spinning Leslie speakers can make the sound feel like it’s floating around you.

Dave Stephenson brings his great skills and charm as a trumpeter/trombonist/vocalist. Lucas Zorzo, just back from Europe, will be playing his enviably unique guitar style. Ben Cox is one of those rare drummers who combines sensitivity with funky and swinging grooves, a great addition to the band.

The repertoire has originals including world premiers, rearrangements of pieces a century old or more, along with modern jazz classics. There’s also one the band is particularly proud to include by a recently departed great Australian musician and mentor, Judy Bailey
